A History of Norman Clark Gunsmiths

I left school in 1977 and was fortunate enough to get a job as a trainee gunsmith in the Birmingham gun trade. Working at a well established gun making company, I was surrounded by a vast amount of knowledge and skill from ex W.W.Greener and Webley & Scott gunsmiths. This is where I began to develop my skills.

Leaving employment in 1984 I set up an independent gunsmithing business on my own in a rented room in Rugby. Here I took on a wide range of work including my passion for centerfire rifles. At this time my machines were setup in a neighbouring village and it soon became apparent that I would need to move. In 1993 I moved into a small industrial unit at Hunters Lane and as demand increased for my custom rifle work along with the opening of our retail outlet, I employed staff to help.

As retail and wholesale demand increased for our specialist reloading products, a further move was needed. In 2009 we moved to a tailored building on Somers Road which consists of a large modern show room complete with workshop and warehouse, where we have a good team with a vast amount of knowledge and expertise all under one roof.

Over the years I have built and customised a wide range of precision stalking, varmint, tactical and target rifles in a variety of calibres ranging from .14 up to .505 which has included many medal winning guns. We strive to keep the customer happy with our level of precision and attention to detail. I am looking forward to spending many more years at the work bench in pursuit of extreme accuracy and excellence.
